Re: headers

We only have 1 header, not plural.

When I put one on my car, I just got mine off ebay. It worked fine, I think thats what most people do and dont seem to have any problems.

You may gain a few hp.

Re: headers

You can use about any brand of header on the 420A that makes then for the motor. It's a short and plain/simple design that only offers like 3 -4 hp at best. The header may be smoother and have more free flow but they are typically longer than the stock manifold so you will need to make sure you also get a down pipe with it. Shouldn't cost you more than 60.00 - 70.00 bucks on ebay.

Re: headers

Headers can be funny. An expensive one can fit like a million bucks, or can fit like shit, or vice versa, a cheap one can fit better than an expensive one, or can hardly even bolt up. They've been getting better lately, but I remember when they used to hardly fit at all.
If you search, the 4-2-1 has some gains over the 4-1 and vice versa, it all depends if you want to sacrifice bottom-end for more top-end hp, or if you want to keep/upgrad the bottom-end for a small decrease in top-end.

Hell yeah, I can't remember the exact details but yeah it depends on what formation you get. 4-2-1 or 4-1!

4-2-1 if you want more bottom end. 4-1 if you want more top end.

Re: headers

4-1 was my choice because the 420A is pretty ballsy through 1st gear. Probably getting about 150hp ouf it not with all the mods and then some but at top end it is completely gutless..from 70 on is just..gah.

Re: headers

I can't hold traction in 1st gear at all anymore. And these tires are only a year old. Once I hit about ~5k rpm, they slippin all over. Kinda sucks.

I would say get a 4-1. 4-2-1 have problems passing emission tests

Re: headers

I have never been able to keep traction from 5k in 1st to about 4k in 2nd. That was on a pure stock setup.

That means you need non-horseshit tires homeboy.
