1997 T-bird won't start.
My car was always starting and running perfectly until I replaced my cracked plastic intake manifold with a pi aluminum crossover manifold. I just completed the work, but the car will no longer start. My current conditions are: the CEL indicater is the only dash light that does not come on, the high speed cooling fan runs with key-on and when trying to start, the inertia switch is reset, the fuel pump does not prime or turn on, the tachometer does not move off zero as I crank the starter, my scanner does not read - it no longer can communicate with the computer, the fuses under the hood are all good, the CCRM was not tampered with and never had a problem. To the best of my knowledge, all electrical connections and vacuum lines are properly attached.
My car's battery was unhooked for a period of two and a half months while I removed the old manifold and adapted on the pi Mustang intake manifold. Both engine temperature sensors on the crossover are hooked up. It appears that my computer is not being powered up. What can cause this? I have heard that a poor CCRM ground can show similar results, but it wasn't touched during the swap. Also, I heard that the CCRM energizes the computer. Is this true? What are the possible needed repairs in your opinion?
