body upgrade suggestions

ok, soooo i've always thought that the only body kit i've enjoyed to no beyond was the veilside.. its so damn expensive though. over time i've grown more fond of the stock 99 bumper. question being

my rear bumper is crap. what could you all suggest i do to equal out the beauty? get an aftermarket rear bumper? side skirts too? get a different generation? i wouldn't want my car to look unproportioned.

is the veilside more aerodynamically efficient, to where it would be worth it?

Re: body upgrade suggestions

Considering, according to your profile at least, you have a 96 3000GT, Id say either repair your current bumper or get a used one. There are only two different rear bumpers for the 3000GT. 91-93 and 94-99. I would never recommend fiberglass bumpers to anyone. I learned the hard way.

Re: body upgrade suggestions

oh, no my bumper isn't ruined or anything, i just really don't care for the looks. thats why i wanted to know if i got the 99 front, if an aftermarket rear would look ok or if it would look funky.

PRM FTW. Expensive as hell, but at least it looks great.

Re: body upgrade suggestions

nah...gotta go with pure form on that one.

that looks too...modified...for my tastes though. but to each his own.

the sides arent bad on that, but you gotta go with a '99 front with a lip and a stockish rear bumper...with '99 vr4 wing.

or this side/back

probably my fav...

Re: body upgrade suggestions

i remember someone saying it was chopped before (maybe it way you??)

how can you tell?

Even if it would take me 50 hours of work to get it to fit like that, i think it would be worth it. I like the look that much.

Re: body upgrade suggestions

i think i've seen the orange car before.. i liked the hood a lot. is that yours? where did you get it? the front bumper looks really good, without the slots in the front IMO. the skirts are killer though.

the white one looks like my bumper with additional style to the bottom that i'm not too keen of. but i do love the hoop spoiler. i dont think i would go for aftermarket an, i heard someone say that downforce in the rear is bad for a FWD so i think i'll try to get one of those. whats a reasonable used price? someone in town wants to sell me his.

Re: body upgrade suggestions

here are some rear bumpers that i was kind of looking for. they are low profile, yet different.

i just think a better looking rear bumper would be appropriate, even though the front is factory. what do you guys think? or would it be better to just keep what i have? i hate the ugly thing that hangs between the exhaust on what i have now.

Re: body upgrade suggestions

The first one is similar to one that used to be on my car. It was ok, but again I do NOT recommend a fiberglass bumper.

The second, you are not going to find for less than $400-$500. Thats Kaze
