Front Rotors siezed 1999 Ford Explorer

Read all the threads, still need help. 1999 Ford Explorer, XLT, 6 cyl, 4x4 automatic, Front Rotors, Free floating. Tried a lot except heat and cutting. Rotor just will not come off. Used PB blaster, Soaked hub, and stud openings if that did any good, Ha. Beat outside of rotor, Inside of rotor. Brake calipers were removed and no little push clips on studs. Spent 2 hours on wheel. Rotate, Bang, Rotate, bang inside and out, Still nothing. Dont want to cook bearings and not capable at home to cut them. I know they rust against against the hub but still looking for alternatives

If the rotors are not too mangled from all the beating, one option would be to put the wheels back on, but basically just spin the lugnuts on finger tight. Move the vehicle very slowly and step firmly on the brake pedal. Only do this once or twice, then jack the vehicle up, properly support it, and remove the wheels. See if the rotors have now broken free.

This was a trick that we sometimes had to do to get aluminum wheels unseized from the rotor/hub.

Now that the pentrant has had a chance to soak a few hours though, you may want to try tapping on the rotors again before trying my suggestion above.

Also, if you have an air hammer, you can attempt to hammer the rotor free by using the air hammer on the rotor had between wheel studs.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it another shot before putting the wheels on finger tight and moving the vehicle
