4x4 inop

hi i have a 2000 blazer 4x4 inop-- checked the fuses checked for power at switch-yes took a chance and changed switch- still inop--lights on switch don't light-- talked to a friend at chevy dealer he said needs to be hooked up and clear code--he said it might make the switch inop if theirs a hardfault? i'm alittle confused with this i'm more familiar with ford than gm. i checked for power at encoder motor and nothing there. can anyone help me i know from reading everything on these forums that this vehicle has alot of 4x4 problems. i also just found that it might be the vacum switch? if anyone can lead me in the right direction i would appreciate it. thanks

4x4 inop no lights on switch fuses good -checked for power at motor- none- i have been looking through alot of posts on here and have alot of options what could be wrong and its many- i certainly don't want to take it to a dealer- i worked on fords for 13 yrs i know how all that works,i'm not too familiar with gm. i am thinking towards the tccm. i hear no clicking and get no response at all from switch. if anyone can help me figure this out i would greatly appreciate it. thanks oh yeah sorry 2000 blazer 4x4

You can try what I did. Unplug the TCCM with the car running, then plug back in. Got mine working. But when I turned it off, back to the same. Replaced the
TCCM, works now.

Re: 4x4 inop

233 or 236 transfer case?
Make sure it is getting all 12 volt power to it.
You need to get the code or codes first thing.
Any abs or check engine lights or service transmission lights?
Does the switch lights come on for a bulb check with key on?
