Re: 99 Killed

Could be anything from bad gas to bad spark plug, loose spark plug, clogged fuel filter, etc....

I would start with the question of whether or not you've stopped for gas at a station you don't normally use; OR a cheap gas station??

Had this happen on me last year at King Soopers gas station....used it a few times without issue, then suddenly one day, out of the blue, truck just flat stopped running AT 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY! Talk about frightening.

Stopped and picked up some fuel system cleaner, filled her up with Shell gas - what I had always used before, and hit the road....truck was good as new within matter of minutes.

Re: 99 Killed

Mine has done that twice, and both times it was a bad intake manifold gasket.

Re: 99 Killed

I don't know what exactly the code is but the P01 part tells you its Powertrain, Generic, fuel and air metering. I just wanted to say that I had a 99 rodeo that would do this a couple of years ago. It started out innocent enough and eventually would not restart. I learned to get out reach my arm up by the right rear wheel and yank the wires going to the fuel pump. It would always remedy the problem. Of course I eventually yanked too hard as the problem got worse, and I got frusterated. Eventually I got a whole new tank with a fuel pump from a junk yard and replaced it all including the last six inches of wire and the plug. Fixed it like new. Thats all I know.
