96 Cherokee radio + lighting problem
Hi, I just bought a 96 jeep with no problems other than it had no radio in it. I have installed radios before and never had any problems but this I just can not figure out at all.
Both the interior dome light and the radio do not work after attempting to hook up the radio. I have tried unhooking and rehooking the radio up and tried reconnecting all the radio wires back up and still nothing after a few attempts. Just wondering if someone could tell me why both of these things would go out at the same time, if its a fuse or something worse. And also a little help on finding a free diagram to my fuse box would be great as I recieved nothing of the sort with my purchase. Thanks a lot |

Re: 96 Cherokee radio + lighting problem
I'm going through the same thing. I had to revert back to my stock radio, and now I can't keep the fuse from blowing.
I'll probably end up just cutting the wire for the radio's LCD illumination. |

Re: 96 Cherokee radio + lighting problem
Got it finally after rechecking all the fuses... turns out it was one of the tiny 20 amp fuses under the hood. No problems since replacing as of now

HUH?? under the hood? i know there are fuses under there but i have the same issue but it only blows the fuse under the driver side fuse box, it only happens when i try to UnLock the doors either on the driver side or the passenger side controls, not sure why it happens thought there was a short in the driver side controls but it happens when i use either side so now i just keep a box of fuses with me
