any ideas on torque specs?
anyone know what the torque specs would be for the following on a smallblock engine with turbo 400 tranny?
the 2 large engine mount bolts that go through the rubber part of the mount the four bolts that hold the plate that the mount rests on to the frame rails the two transmission mount bolts that go through the crossmember under the tailshaft of the transmission any ideas? I was thinking that it was a "get 'er good and tight" situation, but i just want to make sure before i overtorque anything |

Re: any ideas on torque specs?
Yeah, just get 'er good 'n' tight
I've never had a problem using an impact wrench with a max torque of 500 ft.lbs. I don't think you're going to break bolts that big by hand, if the metal bends, you're tight enough

Re: any ideas on torque specs?
I just tighten them up to 50 lb-ft. 35 lb-ft on the transmission mount bolts. Good and tight to the point they won't work loose, yet won't damage anything.
