Buying My First Car

I have been looking around, and I have found a 3000GT that I like, its not a VR4, which I considered good because I dont want something that fast for my first car, but it does have high mileage.

1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL
$3000
165,000 Miles
Well Maintained
Good Condition

Is this a fair buy? Or would I have to spend alot to keep it running. I've done some research, but I figured some input from people who might own one would be helpful, Thanks.

Re: Buying My First Car

Yeah, I agree with that post. That is why I wouldnt want a VR4 for my first car, I dont need something with that much power and that takes up too much gas. I do still like the SL tho.

Re: Buying My First Car

Yeah, price is reasonable to me. Personally, I would not buy any Mitsubishi for a primary car. I don't like the hit or miss reliability reputation they possess. I would talk to the 3k owners here and see what maintenence is like on the base vs. a VR4 and if you like what they say then go for it. With cars like these its usually on the high side, but maybe its not that bad on a SL since its not as powerful. They are lovely, sexy looking cars and hopefully the SL won't be as expensive as a VR4 for you to insure.
