power door locks not working

Hello and thank you for your help.

I have a '95 Astro whose power door locks started to partially fail about a week ago. When I push the switch, there is an actuator sound and a bit of movement, but the locks fail to move all the way up or down (lock or unlock)
. The manual says the fuse for this circuit is a 30 amp metal-cased one. I have checked it but there is no way to know if it's blown, and this seems unlikely as there is still power to the locks, just not enough.

My battery is fairly new and the gauge marks 14 volts even.

Thank you again.

Re: power door locks not working

Morning
My 98 has a similar prob.
Sometimes I have to push the switch two or three times.
If the doors are locked can they be released?
Find the door lock relay and give it a tap-tap (highly technical)
In my tipical diag. the cig. ltr fuse also provides power.
Do any of the switches opperate the locks?

Re: power door locks not working

The OEM actuators get weak over time--sad but true-- last one I had that acted this way- I bought the $4 aftermarket actuators off Ebay and replaced the OEM ones- and they worked great- one the original wiring circuit- You have to pull the door panels off- drill out the original actuator rivets and bolt in the new ones- so looking at the wiring or the fuses doesn't get you anywhere when the locks move slow- or barely move..........

Re: power door locks not working

Good Morning,

both switches (driver and passenger) operate all the locks, there's clicking sounds and actuator sounds, but they stop short of even a quarter of the way in either direction. Also, all the locks failed at the same time. they can be opened manually except for the rear door.

Re: power door locks not working

buy the oem replacements lock motors and install . all better. the aftermarket ones are tricky to get right and you need to cut wires to install, not easy for the avg guy.
