CTS Wire-Where?

I have a 86 4.3 with a slight problem. It is stalling and running very rough in the cold right now. I do know that on the drivers side of the intake manifold there is a coolant temp sensor located just above the exaust manifold. It is a one blade screwed into the water jacket. Now my question is what happened to the wire. I do have a grey and black wire infront of the tbi in a plastic protector casing. They are just sitting there. I am not sure if they are the ones. I do beleive by looking at the manual it says yellow for input and black to the return. But the diagram shows no temp guage. ONly fuel, oil pressure guage and check engine guage. My temp guage is not running right now, and I have read where rough idling can come about from this not being hooked up. I already rehooked the purge tank up to the tbi, that did help alot. But short of tracing the wire right out of the dashboard. Does anyone know and is this just a single wire?

Re: CTS Wire-Where?

The coolant temperature sensor wire is USUALLY a single green wire with a female spade terminal. The yellow and black wires they were talking about are for the computer coolant temperature sensor located next to the thermostat housing.
