Curious...has anyone else had this problem?

I was coming home, driving my '73 F-250 and settled in front of my house. When I went to shift the tranny into park, the lever went loose and would not lock into a gear...any gear.

Now I know that granny is old, but I need to know if this is a common issue.

Check the linkage between the shift lever and transmission. Most likely the linkage is loose or disconnected somewhere.
