Which Vehicle?

I have a 2000 GMC SLE 5.3 4x4 ext cab pickup with 105000 miles. I also have a 1997 JGC Limited with 156000 + miles. My plan is to drive from southern Maine to Grand Rapids Michigan the day after Christmas. I will be going through Canada and will do it in one day about 1000 miles. This will mean approx 16 hours of driving, So which one do I take? Also, I haven't replaced the fuel pump.. but things seemed to have died down about them.. I am also posting this in the Grand Cherokee forum.

Re: Which Vehicle?

I would prefer the truck. Longer wheel base, larger and safer vehicle = more comfortable trip. Might even get better mileage, the JGC reputation for mpg is not good from what I hear?

The newer body style trucks don't seem to have fuel pump problems like the 88-98 generation.
