Not a ford guy, so I don't know, do you?

A friend of mine wanted me to check and see if the transmission from a 84 CV would work in an 89 CV. I have no idea, would the engine size determine that? Anyone know for sure or would I need to get more info to determine if it would work?

I think the 84 would be just a 3 speed auto tranny and maybe a AOD and I think the 89 you will find to be electronic with over drive... just something to look at
