Looking to buy car online.

Hi everyone, I am a first time user looking to buy my car online.
Theres a website Autonation direct that allows you to buy your car online without stepping foot in a dealership. I am thinking of using it to buy my new car.

Does anyone have any experience with it?
Is there another company that does the same thing?

Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Looking to buy car online.

Do not buy a car without test driving it and inspecting it first, no matter where you buy it. You are taking a big, big risk otherwise.

John , " I think if my memory serves me right " you been trying to revolutionize the way for people to buy vehicles since 1999 , your service is a third party for profit , a saving the smart consumer could benefit from dealing direct through the Internet getting free vehicle quotes from dealers.

I am puzzled about one area, why is it called Auto Nation when in fact I entered 15 zip codes from different states and only found one that was valid for a new car quote ?...

Re: Looking to buy car online.

Online shopping is more of a tool, than a replacement to buy "in person" I would NEVER buy a car i had not seen in person and test driven. Instead, use the internet to research your choices, prices, some dealerships have a pretty current inventory on their website.

Re: Looking to buy car online.

Ray, That is correct AutoNation did try a program back in 99'. Our current program is a pilot in Atlanta GA, and is only available currently in GA. That is why when you put in the outside zipe codes you were unable to proceed. It's a great way for a person to purchase a vehicle. We have a 3 day money back guarantee, test drive program and we deliver the vehicle to there home or office. We're trying to take the deal out of the dealership and allow the consumer to buy on their terms.

So, what your saying, is, having flowers delivered or a vehicle to your driveway there is no difference, give Auto Nation a call you deserve their excellent service.

PS... If you done your shopping and know exactly what your looking for in every detail of the deal, and John from Auto Nation can beat the price, go for it, on a new vehicle maybe, on a used it would never happen... it leaves one question... you have small issues, whom do you contact, yer sure take it to the local dealer, they dont know you from Adam, and the sevice wont be the same.

Re: Looking to buy car online.

You can buy a car online, but do a proper research and compare the prices before that.
