another cruse ?

2001 sel switch on steering wheel will turn on cruse but it will not turn it off have to push brake pedel to turn cruse off any suggestions. thanks

Ok i guess you mean the off button just won't work.. Do all the other buttons work resume, cost,set. Seeing that the Off and on button are close to the window, weather may have come into contact with it. When you push the off button down try to jiggle it side to side up and down while pushing down. This may clean the contact points off. I look more into the switch a little later.. Try that first.. hope this helps.. Gary

I could not open the switch unit do to i did not have torx bit size to fit. Must be T5 Or 6,7. So you can just pop it out and replace if need be. Dealer item only I think...Not unless you come across a salvage part.. Have pictures to show you how to pop out. Took less than 2 min to pop out.. So all you need is a flat edge screw driver. If you want to replace. Pop it out dealer can order.. So far I think your problem must be switch related if all controls work and cruise is working fine except for the off switch..Hope this helps.
