Question Please

I love this forum. I was wondering can you damage the ignition module or anything by unplugging and then replugging spark plug wires while the truck is running?

Also please, most times when i start up and drive the exhaust sounds pretty rough like putt, putt, puff, puff deal and is lacking power, every once in a while when driving it sounds like it wants to break loose and give more power like a back and forth type of thing, like something is cutting in and out. And also after im driving her and then shut off and come back to start up and go again the exhaust sounds real good and clean and my power is back for only a short time. Then back to the same old thing. The exhaust dose have a hole right after the cat and before the muff and 2 bread knive like slits on muff where the 2 straps go to.Thanks for looking and helping me,i know ive made a couple other posts about this rattle heap and soon to get her workin rught again

Re: Question Please

YES
Not often but it can happen.
They make spark gap testers for testing the spark jump.

For more help give year and engine and mileage and more info on how your tune up is and if any check engine lights

The answer is.
YES

Like how many miles on tune up?
Plugs and wires and fuel pressure?
Check engine lights?
Does it have a dead miss or just running bad?

Re: Question Please

93 4.3 CPI 160k miles, new rotor, cap, plugs, wires getting spark on all wires, fuel filter, air, recent fluid change oil, tranny, only code is 43 Knock sensor i made post before about this code related to the ESC electronic spark control since then i replaced knock sensor, but still have code showing after reset.Dont understand meaning of dead miss, the truck is just running bad like only 70% worth. Its not knocking or pinging that i can hear, fuel pressure is around 60 psi on prime,FPR replaced also.Original O2 sensor
IAC valve checks out with multi meter,MAP sensor,TPS,and Air intake sensor checks out.
