Help Tranny

2000 z24 2.4 auto. I was getting on the interstate tonight and it was a steep incline and it was cold out. The car kept jolting like it was shifting down and back up. it did this about 7 or 8 times. This has happened before but it only did it 2 or 3 times.. The only time it does it is when im accelerating to get on a steep on ramp. Please any ideas!

Re: Help Tranny

do the rpms bounce up and down like around 500 or 600 rpms. thats about the average between shifts if it doesnt bounce then its probably not the trans.

Re: Help Tranny

if there is a check engine light on, get it scanned. if it is shifting like that it could be the TCC solenoid, 1-2 or 2-3 shift solenoid or the MLPS ( manual lever position sensor) your trans is a 4t40e which is electronic. anything electrical thats tide in somewhere with your trans can make it mess up

Re: Help Tranny

Re: Help Tranny

kezia,
is your check engine light on? if so the best thing is to get it scanned. advance auto parts scans cars for free if there not busy, i dont know what parts stores your around. try to get it scanned. tell them to scan for engine codes and trans codes and see what it says. it would be just a waste of time and money just to keep guessing. let me know what they say and maybe i can help you better
