Loud Knock
Can anybody help. My Stratus '98 just started letting out this terrible knocking sound. Basically, it sounds like something is going to fall apart. It seems to be coming from a belt in the corner by the passengers side. It is worst when the car is idleing.

my 1998 stratus does the same thing it is the Hydraulic Roller Rockers thats normal for high milege cars with them rockers . thay are fine but you can fix it but it will cost you. $1,149.99 for a sohc top end rebuld and $1,299.99 for a DOHC top end rebuld. I would just keep runing what you got and make shour you have good oil in it and the right amount of oil in it. I use 4 1/2 to 5 quorts of Castrol GTX HIGH MILGE and fram filter. that will help to. It wont stop the sound but she will run better and for about $20 every 3,000 miles not bad eather.
