Williams Renault FW-19 Revell 1/24
Finally, the car is finished. Overall an enjoyable build, but with lots of work needed. I am quite satisfied, however, there are still some flaws (ie: turns out I made the aerodynamic winglets a bit small on the cowling, and I didn't modify the control arms which are wider on the actual car, still overall I think I've got the accuracy down). I've added an additional camera on the nosecone. Harness scratchbuilt, additional corrections and detailing on suspensions, brakes etc. This is my first attempt and probably one of the most complicated paint/decal scheme car I've ever done, and learnt lots from it. BTW, turns out the black headrest was used by Villeneuve only, because he is a bit short. For Frentzen's car, builders can leave out the headrest.
WIP here http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...=662506&page=2 Here are the pictures!! Enjoy!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now onto the next project, Revell Enzo!! (don't think will be due in time for the tribute though ...o well)

Re: Williams Renault FW-19 Revell 1/24
Hhhm!? No replies, yet? - Strange! I like like your Williams. Except for some bubles in your carbon-decal at the front spoiler very clean work!

Re: Williams Renault FW-19 Revell 1/24
Thanks for the reply!! Really appreciate it, one makes a difference!! The front bubbles is strange, can't really be seen when looking at the model, or like in photo one, but I've fixed it with some hair dryer now.
I agree, I was wondering why no one replied (for a bit over 2 days), I made a post on another forum and got quick replies (and it's a lot smaller too), this kind of thing happened to me twice now.. ...both during completed (other was nsx) thread, but I get good replies in the wip so I am happy!BTW, I think this kind of behaviour is too often when viewers see a 0 on replies and low view count, they tend to ignore it (I am not sure if ever brought up, but I'll say it ... well probably--Those builds are usually when people consider "not too impressive, a bit out of league or level aka.. sh*t.., subject not interesting or photos not good enough really so no comment etc".. and even more ironic when it's the other way around...sad but unfortunately true)....well but I don't believe too much in that (as in I would still take a look)...

Re: Williams Renault FW-19 Revell 1/24
I sugest you to change to 1/20th scale, F1 at 1/24th is not the best choice, the kits always looks like toys (this is not a modeler's problem, great modelers also try but the results are far from good too, Revell should change their F1 kit's scale).
Regards, Marcelo. |
