93' Porsche Carrera

Well...the story starts like this..

I was at a pals house, bored and watching television, he brings up my past model modifications, then tells me to get back into it. I told him, nah, I don't have much time to anymore. Which was obviously not true seeing as I was sitting around, doing well...nothing. So, I'm back.

Anywho, the story on the car. This little beauty was liberated from my friends clutches (the one who told me to get back in the scene) after I saw what he attempted to do to it.

All he attempted to do was paint the hood and and wheels.

So, I took it and told him; "I'll take care of this one....."

So here it is.

1993 Porsche Carrera.

I stepped in and:
Lowered the front and rear, with a tad bit of camber in the rear.
Slipped some BBS racing wheels on.
Added two yellow racing buckets.
Custom headers spitting out the rear for a custom exhaust.
Chopped the front facia to increase the opening for a radiator and oil cooler placement.
Added a group a gauges to monitor the pulse of the soon to be monster.
And I've started my custom intake setup. (Plan to route them to breathe through the rear windows)

I'm leaning on making this a cup car, not sure yet, but it's already headed that way with my wing and MASSIVE rear camber and the nice BBS racing wheels.

Apparently he thought paint meant "color it with a permanant marker".

Here's a lower front shot, shows where I lowered the facia a little bit, opened up the induction. Might slip the radiator behind it. Oh, and you can see just how wicked that camber is.

Here's another painful "painted hood" shot. I have alot of work to do.

Custom exhaust shot, and the nasty "paint" on the boot lid. The wing is still a bit sketchy, but I'm working with it.

A little glimpse inside the cockpit.

And here's a good angle to end on.

Well, lots of work to do.

I'll try to remember to keep taking photos and posting them for ya guys.

Good to be back.

Re: 93' Porsche Carrera

Yeah, 1/18 scale.

It shouldn't take much longer, just gotta get some sand paper and paint.

And I might slap two very large turbo's on it...

Not sure....

Re: 93' Porsche Carrera

Updates:

I started the turbo setup, going big twin.
Got one in, had to rip out the old exhaust though, but I think the turbo will be better.

Here's a shot of the gauges and little screen by the shifter. Just because the last glimpse wasn't good enough.

Here's a shot with the boot open.

Here's the shot without the wheel blocking the view.

And, here's the induction pipe. Still need to make a custom window inlet.

Haha, that's almost the idea.

But the wing does have little bubbles on the ends that I do plan to shave down.

But it's supposed to look hideous.

See.

Re: 93' Porsche Carrera

A FEW updates.

Started the exhaust work.
Couldn't get the downpipe to route out the back the way I wanted, so I took an idea from the factory exhaust setup and made a canister with angled outlets.

Looking good....for only one side being done.

Here's a semie-decent shot of the exhaust, mainly the little "work donated" diorama. >.>

But here's an undercarriage shot. Shows the half completed canister exhaust.

Haha, didn't even notice it sitting in the photo.

I guess I could either send you photos, or just open a thread on it.

It was an old project, that I finally got around to finishing.
(Except the rollcage...still never got around to that part)

Ok, few updates.

Got a brake setup, some nice slotted rotors.

Re: 93' Porsche Carrera

Update: Again.

I changed my intake setup, I got a nice rear window scoop, now I have the intake routed right at the inlet. Looks nice in my opinion.

Here's where the intake pipes route up to the inlet.

And here's the scoop that sucks in the fresh air.
