ilde too slow & dies

Just replace fuel pump and filter on 94 lincoln continental that had been parked 4 years. Got it to start but have to keep accelerator pressed to keep running. Releasing accel completely results in engine dying. What causes this?

Did you relace all the fuel? It might just be bad gas. 4 years is a long time for fuel.
