97 Cavalier Idle Air Control?
my 97 cavalier has been giving me issues lately where its been struggling to speed up at times, and will shake when i'm accelerating. Went by midas and had it check and they basically said it needed an Idle Air Control replaced. My question is whether or not I should go ahead and let them do it or if it's a relatively easy part to replace? I didn't put this in problem diagnosis because I figured it was more of a general opinion than an actual problem question.

Re: 97 Cavalier Idle Air Control?
dude, its probably easier than changing spark plugs. However, it's one expensive mother to buy one if thats the case. If you clean your TB thoroughly with some carb cleaner and remove the IAC valve and shoot that with the spray as well it should help quite a bit.
when was the last time you had a tune up. Plugs and wire, fuel injection cleaning. The IAC valve isn't know to go bad on our cars untill many many miles.

Re: 97 Cavalier Idle Air Control?
Well, they advised me to get a tuneup as well with the stuff you mentioned included. But I didn't believe a tuneup would fix the issues. And for the record my cavalier has 168,xxx miles so its not exactly low in the mileage department.
