Help--99 Ram Converter Shudder

Hi: 2 weeks ago while on Interstate, doing about 75, it seemed like the converter started shuddering while in O.D., Check Engine blinked and went out. I slowed down, turned O.D. off and truck ran fine. I tried driving with
the O.D. on again, and it seem the truck won't get out of its own way.
With O.D. off, shifts and runs perfect.\

Is this the sign of something starting to go bad.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Is the TPS a do-it-yourself job, or does it have to go to a garage or Dealer?
