2004 Solara

just a little tidbit for those interested...

2004 Toyota Solara will be totally redesigned. I have no pictures, but I can tell you that it will look something like a mix between an Audi TT and Lexus SC430 conv. It will feature a new 3.3L V-6 with VVT-i pushing at least 240 hp.

Look for it at your local Toyota dealership in the summer of 2003.

2004 solara

Can you share whether it will have four cylinder option with standard and will it only be a two seater like the two cars you mentioned? I am asking because I have a 2003 Camry and it is too pudgy and puffy for my liking. I want something more sportslike. The dash is like a Buick dash. I am thinking of trading for a Honda Accord but wondering whether or not I should wait to see the Solara. The car drives well it just looks like someone stuck a hose on the exhaust and puffed it full of air!

Thanks for the info. Have been searching the Internet for any tidbit. Hope it will have decent headroom and leg room. Too many of the cars I've looked at seem to be built for those under 5'10".

From what I've heard on the forum I usually post at (www.solaraguy.com) a few people had constant posts that the 3mz-fe 3.3 L v6 will run at 245 hp. Also, the same guy said that it will have "E-Shift".
On the looks area... I've heard constant things about a es-300 like front-end, a is-300 like body style, and a nissan 350z rear crossed with a sc430. (As read on multiple forums/websites... claiming sources being friends of workers, or workers that remain anonymous for the safety of keeping their job)

Word also has it that 10 will be produced now as test cars (some east coast/mid east area factory) and the final production will begin in July of 2003 (released late August)

Thank YOu

This suggests I'm not going to learn much more soon. Based on what Toyota is doing, I'm hoping this new Solara will be quite a car. Hope it has sufficient head and leg room. Lots of cars spouse and I liked were deficient in one or the other.
