Heat blend actuator

I have a 97 malibu and I need to replace the flap that changes to heat because the shaft is broken. Does anyone know where I can get info on how to get to it and remove it? Do I need to pull the whole dash or is there a simpler way? Thank You

i had to replace the fan speed module which is next to the mixer flap. you dont need to remove the dash, but, if i remember correctly there is 1 small panel to remove under the glove compartment and you will need small tools (1/4" drive set) and there is a very small amount of room to work with so hopefully there is no small children around 'cause you will be swearing at it as i was. good luck.
