James Bond cars?

I just watched "for your eyes only" last night and I'm inspired to build a bond car..

I'd love to do the Lotus Esprit Turbo in this movie, the metallic orange one with the skis behind. How does the Monogram release stack up for this conversion?

I must say, I have never heard of anybody doing a Bond car. So why don't you do it.

There is only 2 ways to find out....ask here, and if nobody can help, just do it. :hehe:

Plenty of Bond car on 1/18 diecasts (orange Esprit, the "boat" Esprit, DB5, the new DB12, Z3, Z8). None in kit form that I know of.

I've heard rumor that the Monogram Esprit is pretty decent. Dunno if that helps

There are some kits... Doyusha made a 1/24 (or was it 1/25?) Aston martin DB5, both in street form and in James Bond form, which came with figures of Bond and Odd job. It's very rare these days. Doyusha also released a Moonraker shuttle kit.

Haven't seen any for the Bond Lotus and Aston Martin V8 yet though. Anyway I believe the orange Esprit was just a street car with no gadgets added. No idea which year's Esprit it was though.

The Bond car represents one of the early Esprit, so the Monogram kit might look too new, but chassis and engines can be usable.
For the body of the orange and white Bondo Esprit, I think Nichimo one involves less body work.

Smile Bond, James Bond.

This is the kit you need, available from Hobby Link. It's made by Nichimo and is the first Esprit series, I think the Bond car is an S2, but this is a good start. It is a motorized kit but the body is great and it has some detail.

Z3 is done by Tamiya and Z8 by Revell Germany.

I'm waiting for a Vanquish to come out and modif it! Rockets upfront, 2 machine guns on the hood, replacing V12 by a Ford V8 and adding 4 wheel drive to it. Those are the modifs done for the last bond movie. Just read the article in CAR magazine. VERY COOL!

I heard that the next Bond car will be a Mercedes!! or was I dreaming.... :finger: :finger:

Hmm... the Nichimo release comes with an opening rear lid. Interesting. Now the thing is finding reference photos of the bond car.

I stand corrected :angel::angel::angel:

In my defense :angel: I was referring to kit specifically designated as "Bond" vehicle - not just the general model release.

Oh good grief!!!
