need some help

i just replaced the head on my 1988 s10 pickup 2.5 it runs but like crap. When u give it gas it sputers (in all gears) until i stomp it to the floor then runs good, also when stopped it idles really high. i've put a new fuel pump and filter still does the same exact thing

Did you get the valves set right?
And the correct firing order and timed right?
All vacuum lines on good?

Check the compression and post back readings.

commpression all 150lb, checked firing order 3 times, new plugs & wires, new rotor bug, distrubutor cap, couldn't find where all vacuum lines went but their is more on now than have ever been on it plugged the extras

Did you have dist out?
Is the egr valve stuck open?
What is engine vacuum at idle and then at 2500 rpm?
Does it have good hot blue spark to all plugs?

Any dead cylinders or engine miss or just running bad?
