Question 3.9 to a 5.2

I have a 99 dodge dakota 4x4 with a 3.9 v6 with a automatic tranny, and I am going to be getting a 5.2 v8 out of a 97 ram with a 5 speed manual. what parts will i have to swap out to make it work with my truck?

I believe the wiring harness, ecm, possibly the transfer case and you will have to cut a hole in the floor pan for the shifter. This looks like a big job

Re: 3.9 to a 5.2

i looked in to doing this with my 2000 dakota with a 3.9 and putting a 5.2 in it but its cheaper to just buy a 5.2l dakota than it is to put a new motor in it my 2000 dakota is worth about 10k and it would be about 5000$ worth of work its more cost efficent to just sell the v6 and buy a v8
