LIM Repair Problem
I installed a new LIM gasket and when I put everything back together I had a gas leak out of the fuel feed line into the fuel rail. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I am leaking fuel when the car is started? The car is a 2000 Alero 3.4, v6.
Thanks Eric |

Re: LIM Repair Problem
If you are saying that the feed line is leaking. Check and make sure the O-ring is in good shape and make sure that the line is tight. These O-rings can crack easily and will dry out if they were exposed to the air for any period of time. You might want to pull the line off and replace the o-ring and reinstall.

Re: LIM Repair Problem
When I removed the fuel line the o-ring slipped off. I believe it goes in the groove toward the end of the line that is in the fuel rail. Do you have any pics of this? Do you know what size o-ring or part number is needed for that area? or is this something I should see a gm parts supplier and try and have them look it up?

Re: LIM Repair Problem
Sorry AleroCommuter I don't have any pictures on this one. The O-ring goes in the groove. You can check the dealer for the O-ring but you may have to purchase an entire O-ring set to get it. Probably only a couple of dollars.

Re: LIM Repair Problem
Thanks GTPDad I think I got it now. I purchased an O-ring set from Autozone and found one that looked to be the right size. As of right now the leak has stopped and the car is running good. Hopefully no problems turns up and this stays a successful LIM gasket replacement.
