Re: Which is better?
I just need to know how many RMS my amp can handle. I really don't understand on how matching your amp and subs work. But If you guys can give me somekind of info on it then I will know what I can work with. I am planning on getting Rockfords but not sure on the watts and rms. This is what I want to get:

now you say you have a 1000 watt amp. is that max power? what voltage is that measurement taken? there is no magic "formula" to calulate anything like that. all that information should be included with your amp/sub. and if they arent, do some research and find out. these are things you need to know in order to see what your amp is truly capable of and thus, which subwoofer is the best match with it. hope this clears some stuff up. |

Re: Which is better?
Heres what I found:
Audio System Max Output Power / Channel Qty: 380 Watts x 2 Crossover: Active crossover Additional Features: Input level controls Response Bandwidth: 5 - 80000 Hz Signal-To-Noise Ratio: 93 dBA Continuous Power / Channel Qty: 165 Watts x 2 Amplifier Output: 2-channel High Level Inputs: Yes Input Signal Voltage: 0.3 - 6V, 1.2 - 12V Crossover Slope: 18 dB/octave Low Pass Frequencies: 80 Hz Output Power / Total: 1000 Watt Distortion Factor: 0.008% Amplifier Output Details: 165 Watt - 4 Ohm - 20 - 20000 Hz - THD 0.04% - 14.4V DC - 2 channel(s) ¦ 200 Watt - 2 Ohm - 20 - 20000 Hz - THD 0.1% - 14.4V DC - 2 channel(s) ¦ 400 Watt - 4 Ohm - 20 - 20000 Hz - THD 0.1% - 14.4V DC - 1 channel(s) With this said, does this mean I can get two Rockford subs that are 150 RMS and 300 watts? Or should I get something higher? I don't mean to sound dumb, I just don't have no one else to ask. |

the amp and subs you mentioned would do alright, but 165 watts (it will be less at 12v) to each sub is not alot, but you may not want it to shake apart your car like i would want it to do. its all about how loud u want to go. the more power the better (in most cases), but with that power comes capacitor(s) and all that jazz. its better to ask questions now before you do it, than to do it and figure out you did it wrong. |

Re: Which is better?
Just my .02....spend the extra money and get a set of either Infinity or CDT. Rockfords arent very good and Sony XPlods are straight up garbage.
