Removing Filler Hose - 96 Explorer

I have a 96 Ford Explorer that needs the fuel pump changed. I'm going to do it myself, but I can't figure out how the fuel filler hoses come off the tank. They do not have standard hose clamps. They are completely metal. Anyone have any idea how I remove these?

Re: Removing Filler Hose - 96 Explorer

Don't know specifics on the '96, but often times it's easiest just to loosen the whole fuel tube and drop it with the tank. Many times there are 3 8mm bolts inside the fuel door that you can loosen and the entire tube will come out with the tank.

Re: Removing Filler Hose - 96 Explorer

the hose connections are similar to fuel line connectors, just bigger, I used large channel locks to compress mine enough to release the hoses
