Angry 99 Sierra won't start??

Any info would be appreciated on this one:

Today I installed a new battery in the truck. Now my truck will only run for about 1 sec. then it shuts down. I seen a message on the message center saying "SECURITY". I have a remote starter installed and I tried dissabling the remote with the valet switch and I'm still getting the same problem? I also did a code scan and found nothing. PLEASE HELP.

ALSO THE SECURITY MESSAGE DOES NOT STAY ON, BUT DID BLINK ONCE.

Re: 99 Sierra won't start??

I beleive I made the mistake of not turning the valet on before diconnecting the battery and that it activated the security system. So now I need to figure out how to reset it or bring it to where the remote was installed and get them to reprogram it.

Thumbs up Re: 99 Sierra won't start??

OK, HERE'S HOW YOU OVERIDE THE SECURITY SYSTEM WHEN YOU HAVE A REMOTE STARTER.

MAKE SURE YOUR IN VALET MODE (REMOTE START IS DISSABLED). THEN DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVER BATTERY TERMINAL AGAIN, WAIT A COUPLE MINUTES, THEN RECONNECT YOUR NEGATIVE, CLOSE THE HOOD AND DOORS SO THAT ALL GROUND PINS ARE OFF. THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY. THIS SHOULD WORK, IT WORKED FOR MINE ABOUT AN HOUR AGO.
