Newbie question here

Hi,
I have a 94 5 speed 2.2 Cav that started smoking out the vents this morning...the smoke stopped but there is a smell now of "burnt" wires. The smoke was coming out of the vents not from under the dash.
I pulled over and raised the hood but saw nothing going on there...when I got home I was able to actually spend some time looking.I THINK I found the problem, but I wanted to ask here to see what anyone else thought.
The blower motor was making an odd noise so I called a repair/parts yard and had them put a different blower motor on.No more odd noise, but there is still a smell.Could that just be residual? The guys there thought it might have seized up on me thus the smoke...I smelled something like this a few weeks ago but nothing else happened so i wrote it off as something that came through the vents from outside the car...
Everything on the dash is working properly, but I am kinda paranoid now...
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Newbie question here

Most likely residue still on somewhere. I had a piece of black electrical tape stuck to my exhaust once and it came into the car when i had the defrost on. Took me a while to figure out what it was.

Re: Newbie question here

It's probably residual - burnt smell is hard to get rid of. But it could also be your blower motor resistor frying out. Either way I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
