1988 Buick Regal - Rudd's Quaker State NASCAR

Hi all...

I'm a big NASCAR nut, and my favorite body styles they had were the Olds and the Buicks. And one of my all time favorite cars was the Quaker State Buick. So I HAD to hook it up!

This is the most detailed build I've done to date.

The list of mods is:

scratch built rotors
window net made from coffee filter paper (and a template)
plumbed engine, trunk and interior
Modern Motorsports fuel filler kit
Model Car Garage hood hinges
scratch built exhaust
I can't think of anything else right now....

Anyways...here's the pics:

Hope you guys like it!

Jamie

Re: 1988 Buick Regal - Rudd's Quaker State NASCAR

Looks fantastic dude, and I agree, the 80s Buick and Olds G-bodies were the cleanest looking racecars around. I'm considering swapping the front end of my real life racecar from a Monte to a Buick like this one, since my tow vehicle is a Buick. This is making me consider it even more. Excellent build!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! And as far as your car is concerned, swap it to a Buick! That would look sick. I'm positive there's not a lot of those on the tracks anymore....

This is a great build, I really like the realistic finish you made on the exhaust.

Nice build. I love the weathering you did on the body and the exhausts...
a quick Q... the tire swipe on the driver's side.. is it a decal? or is it a custom paint job? If its a paint job... please show us how you did that!! it looks incredibly realistic...
And the jacks are just a doll...

Thanks Guys!

Steve- The tire rub is in fact a decal. It was very translucent, which was cool, cause you could see the numbers underneath, which made it look very realistic.

From exactly which kit, I'm not sure, but I can find out for you.

And the jacks I got off of ebay......

Thank!

Jamie
