233 or 236 transfer case?
Make sure cabel is pulling it all of the way.
In 4W with front end raised up turn front drive shaft and see if a front wheel turns.

Does right side whell just drag or is it locking up?
Try locking one wheel or just jacking up on wheel and turn drive shaft.
IF FRONT AXEL IS LOCKING IN ONE WHEEL SHOULD SPIN WITH DRIVE SHAFT.
When in straight 4W high or low and making a sharp turn can you feel any crow hop or 4W bind up?

Ok in 4W with one wheel jacked up and wheel is locked or will not turn the front Axel is locked in.
Also in park and 4W the drive shaft should be locked.
In neutral and 4W but with one or both rear wheels off the ground the drive shaft should spin but may also spin rear drive shaft with it if 4W is locked in 4W high or low.
Try jacking up both front wheels and in 4W and in park and drive shaft locked spin on front wheel and the other wheel should spin the opposite direction if front Axel is locked in.
The best fast way to check 4W is the crow hop test.
Can you feel crow hop on a sharp turn in 4W on dry payment?
If so 4W is working good and front Axel is locking in.

Re: 1999 blazer ls 4x4 hi not engaging?

Well front axel is locking up.
But also sounds like spider gears are also locked or one wheel is binding up.
Put it back in 2 W and see if right passenger side wheel will spin wheel will spin free.
Also try spinning left side wheel.

In your first post you said front axel is not locking in.
How did you test for that?
Can you get the crow hop in 4W on a sharp turn in 4w drive?
