1996 Buick Lesabre Keyless remote programming
I have my Dad's 96 Lesabre and he had lost the remotes. I bought one off of E-Bay and I'm trying to figure out the programming. I have the programming instructions from other threads in the forum but the data link connector in this car does not match the desrciption. To quote: "Connect fused jumper wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) terminals no. 8 (black/white wire) and no. 4 (black wire)". I do not see a terminal in position 8 on the DLC. From the Chilton manual and programyourremote.com I figured out the pin ID. So I see terminal connections at pin 1, 4, 5 and 7, but not 8. What am I missing?

When looking under the dash, this is what you should see. Notice the pin-out sequence is upside-down.
![]() In this pic, the connector has been inverted to show pin-out 1-16

Re: 1996 Buick Lesabre Keyless remote programming
Thanks for the photo! Now I see what I was doing wrong. I had the pin sequence upside down. Finally took a photo of mine and I am comparing it to your posted pic. I am going to try it this morning...
