Re: New owner of a 97'GV and new to this forum need help baddly!

ok so today I spent alot of time taking my dash apart, just to find that everything I could see (not knowing what to look for ) seemed to be working propperly? Hot pipes in and out on the heater core ( front only ) the motor that opens the fresh air vent is working propperly as well the motors that change hot to cold are working ( this van has seperate controlls for the driver and passenger ) also the motor that changes the vents seems to be working ( it moves and the vents change ). But still I can not figure out why the air comming out of the vents is cool to luke warm at best. The heater core is around 160 to 180 deg. that should be hot at the vents!? I dont get it! Whats wrong? Sorry if this seems dumb but Ive worked on gm's for about 10 yrs now and have never seen anything like this! Any ideas would be great! Also anyone know if this van has a coolant switch in the lines to the heater core that shuts off flow? I also went onder the van and grabbed the rear heater core lines and they were cool to the touch no leaks though. So anyone have any ideas on this mess? I dont really want to or have the funds to take it to the dealer at $80/hr please help im stuck and dont want to have to put my 3 young children in the van when it gets cold out.
