headlight not working
1990 Chev-S10 PU, V6 4.3L 4x4.
I'm not very technical but here is my problem. While driving my vehicle, my left headlamp started going out then back on. It is now not working at all. I replaced the lamp with a working one and tested the connector end with a v-meter and found there is no power on the connector when the lights are on. Does anyone have any suggestions on something that could be the problem...like a fuse, relay, etc.. I'm affraid this is going to be more complicated like a complex short or something. I tried looking at the Chilton manual but I'm not sure where to start at troubleshooting the problem. Suggestions?

Re: headlight not working
The right side feeds off of left side head light plug in.
If no power to left side socket check dimmer switch for power in and out. Does the right side work? Is the left out on high and low beam both? Have you checked ground and for 12 volt power on head light plug ins?

Re: headlight not working
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give it a try.
The right headlamp works on high/low beam but the left doesn't work at all. I checked the wiring on the on/off switch on the dash and it looks good. There is no power on the left side but I'll checkout the plug-in connector again to see if I missed something like a possible wire connection. |
