Hatch interior pieces

Does anybody else have the problem of the hatch interior coming loose? Like the little metal clips breaking off and stuff...my hatch rattles like a bitch now because somehow a little water got up in there and was dripping out so I took part of it apart and it seems like I broke a bunch of clips that when I looked at, seemed like they really couldnt be replaced all that easily. Anybody ever take this apart?

Re: Hatch interior pieces

I have have the panels off my hatch several times. Never seemed to have a problem with the clips breaking off. About 1/2 of them dont come off the plastic and stay in the car. But all you have to do is pull them out and slide them back on.

Re: Hatch interior pieces

My hatch rattles pretty bad too, when I put my hand on the panneling it stops. It really only started rattling when I put the exhaust on it a few months ago. I haven't really looked into how to fix the problem though.

The metal clips will go back onto the plastic, if they won't stay on take come vice grips to them to make them tight again. The rear panels are also help by meta/plastic screws and plastic clips.

Take all the rattling panels out and put dynamat on the back of them, then put the panels back in.

Re: Hatch interior pieces

My sub sits about an inch away from the hatch, and the vibrations kept popping those pannels off.... I just put a little J&B Weld on the backs of each clip and screw and it doesnt rattle at all now...

Re: Hatch interior pieces

The clips wear out after awhile. Take a pliers/vice grip and squeeze them back together like Joe said. Some glue would help too.

Re: Hatch interior pieces

Alright thanks for the replies guys. It's way too fucking cold to tear the hatch apart, that bitch is waiting until spring now I will just deal with the rattling for awhile I guess.

Re: Hatch interior pieces

Slightly bigger screws and some baffle (cotton like stuff) stuck inbetween the panel and hatch...no more vibration. Although I do have water leak in every now and then, but only when I open the hatch after a heavy rain.
