Product review: FMD Ferrari 126C2 detail set

Well after only 2 weeks this arrived today from Hobbyeasy. My first time using them and everything went according to plan and arrived without any problems.

What you get in the package 4 seperate photoetch sheets (more like 3.5 I guess) A photoetch plaque (very nice) and some pieces of resin. The resin has the clear brake ducts, spindles for the photoetch brakes, a few pieces to go on top of the monocoque and some front uper control arms as they want you to cut the old ones off and then wrap the monocoque with the photoetch piece add some new anchors for the control arms from photoetch and add the resin control arms in. You also get a decent glossy instruction sheet, it is so glossy I can't seem to get a good picture of it (sorry)

On to the pics:
The first picture shows the two smaller sheets of photoetch with the brakes, radiators and intercoolers (the wrong intercooler issue is not fixed with this set) tire marking templates, hose clamps, side vents, and ground effect side pod items.

The next picture shows the main photoetch sheet which has the monocoque wrap (not sure how this will work or if I will try but I think the effect is nice), wing endplates, radiator supports, rear wing support detail, seat belt hardware (no material for the belts provided though) This sheet is very shiney and was hard to get a picture of.

Third picture shows the brake vent portion of the rotors and the Ferrari plaque

Lastly we have the resin picture, all very nicely molded.

So there you have it. I think this is a great alternative for those of us who can't afford the MFH set and just want to add a few nice details. There seems to be some concern about the front brake ducts on Gilles car but I can't really tell in the pics I've seen. I have the Studio27 set on it's way and will be selling the set I don't use. I really wanted clear brake ducts as it is a noticable item on the 1:1 car and is very hard for those of us who do not know how to cast to duplicate. Looking forward to finishing my kit now that I have this set.

Mike
