Talking Rev limiter

How do you remove the rev limiter and/or top speed limiter. And I have a '98 Firebird. And I also need ideas for mods so i can beat the crap out of the riceburners at work.

Re: Rev limiter

The rev limmiet and speed governer can be deleted by re-tuning the computer. But remember, they are there for a reason. To beat ricers, start with the usual mods like intake & exhaust.

Let me guess, since your concerned about beating ricers, your firebird is a 6-Banger?

Way more money than it is worth to do that swap...sell the V6 car and buy a V8 equipped T/A or Z-28.

Yeah what Morley said there is more too it then swapping the engine. You have to swap the entire drivetran, suspension, radiator, computer, wiring, etc.

Its cheaper and easier to buy a car that already has a V8.

If you still want a crate jegs has some good prices.

Re: Rev limiter

Well I don't want to buy a new car because, i just bought it a few months ago, and it was hard enough to just find it without going on a roadtrip to pick it up. Anyway swapping the engine is a long term goal. What are some good things to do to a V-6 to get it to beat an assortment of civics,an RX-7, and a TSI AWD '98 Talon. I am new to moding cars so i'm not to sure of what to upgrade and what to leave alone. Any info is appreciated. thanks.
