I'm not sure if this would be the right forum or not. Move it if need be. Anyways, I am looking for a car with suicide-type doors and would be interested in an older model like the continental, or a later 60's t-bird, if I can get one. I am posting this because I would like to see if there is a modification that can be done to take out that middle bar to which both the front and back door close upon (picture at the bottom). It is much easier for me, I'm in a wheelchair, to sit in the front seat and put the chair behind me in the back seat and then drive off. It still might work with an older model that has that bar in the way, but it would certainly be easier with out it. Like the models on the Saturn's that have suicide-type doors, or on the Mazda RX-8. Is there a mod that can take out that bar and make the doors close like the doors on either of these two models? thanks.
