New Corvette C5-R 2001.. any good?

lookie what i found at walmart...

anyone ever done these Revell Kits?? How are they? The last vette i had is a Z06 and it's crazy how crappy the quality is.. but then again, the kits are cheap.

I think the C5R kit I did was from 2000 and it went together quite nicely.

I believe these are the new releases of the C5R, with a widened body and many other corrections from the older tooling. I'm trying to get hold of 1 too.

The biggest problem with these vette kits is the ride height is too high and needs to be lowered and the fact that the hood is not removable. The decals are excellent. Overall not a bad kit for the price.

I built the pro finish C5R and I had no problems with it.

if you want to build the accurate LeMans version (not the Daytona one) you need to modify the mold as they used some additional air vents and stuff.
at least there are enough reference pics on the net from the '01 Vette, I'm currently building the grey '00 version and finding pics is very hard.

my plan is to cut the hood so that it can be taken off just like in a real race car, because it would be a shame to build the engine and have it covered permanently afterwards
