Battery location

I have been back to Canada for a month. I got a call from my sister last night saying that my R34's battery is dead. She usually has it started twice a week, but she doesn't drive it. She just let it run for a few minute. Anyways, I asked her to jump start it, but she said she couldn't find the battery under the hood. Does anyone on this board know where is the battery located in the R34?

Sorry, I can't help you on the battery location, but I can help you from rusting out you exhaust. Do not run your engine for two min, you will do more harm than good. At least run it for 15 min, so everything can get up to temp.

I believe they moved the batter from the front right corner in the R33 to the forward right corner of the trunk. There's a velcro panel you have to pull and you'll see it in there. I'm almost positive that it's in the trunk though. People were buying the R34 battery kits for the R32's to put in an oil cooler when they removed their right front headlights.
Oh...and by the way...since the Japanese batterys are smaller than the US (same voltage and amps...just smaller chemical cells) it really helps to physically diconnect the battery if you're not going to drive it for more than a month.
AND you should always let the car run at least 10 mins to get it to temp...that way you can blow out all of the excess carbon deposits that form when you run an engine cold.

Initial E, be careful when jumpstarting a car with ECU as opposed to carb. If you are unlucky, the ECU can be spoilt or it can go crazy! Dunno why but that an advice my mechanic gave me. My friend jumpstarted his RX7 and after that his idling went awry and many other cases like that. I wouldn't take the risk , especially on a GTR. If your sister had any assistance at hand, I would suggest that she roll start the GTR.

If that doesn't work, I would disconnect the ground side and hook up a battery charger for a day @ a 25 amp. If your charging meter does not move when you hook up the charger, the battery is dead.

Thank you for your advice. I think I will ask my sister to disconnect it since I am going back in Oct. I will deal with it myself.
