Angry Toyota 1999 Sienna MiniVan

I AM FURIOUS WITH TOYOTA!!
I have a 1999 Sienna Van XLE and have only 31, 297 miles on it. I purchased this van new and is the first new vehicle I have ever owned. My warranty expired in May 2002. For one entire year previous to that date I had taken the van many times to find out why my brakes would squeal so bad. They made several attempts at repairing this problem, but have not been able to come up with a solution yet. They have went so far as to replace the brake drums along with the pads. There would be no noise for 3 or 4 days and then it would start again. I have listened to their lame excuse of it being the material brake pads are now made with, till I am sick of it!! I have quit taking the van in because it was really getting to the embarrassing point for me. and was a total waste of time. As of now, I'm listening to the noise constantly and waiting for Toyota to do something.
I DROVE THAT VAN FOR A YEAR AND A HALF WITH THE SAME TYPE BRAKE PADS AND IT DIDN'T SQUEAK ONE TIME!! Commen sense tells me that there is no reason these brakes cannot do the same thing again!
The noise has now become so constant I hate to even drive it anymore.
Sometimes I can get in the van, drive as far as the end of my driveway and when I stop to enter the main road, they will squeal loud enough to be heard a block down the road. I recently spoke to a total stranger, who I noticed had the same 1999 identical van, and he said he has 125,000 miles on his and has had one incident with his brakes making a noise, and once the problem was fixed it hasn't done it again. He goes to the same Toyota service center as I do.
This particular Toyota sevice center has told me that there is nothing more they can do, and THAT I WILL HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT!!
It will be a cold day in h---before I accept this. I have sent 3 different emails to Toyota, each of which I have received a reply, stating that the Customer Relation Manager would be in touch with me, by the end of the next day, AND I HAVE TO YET TO HEAR FROM HIM. THAT WAS OVER 2 WEEKS AGO, when I got the first response from Toyota headquarters, which surprised me in itself.
If this is the quality that Toyota uses on their vehicles and this is how they stand behind their automobiles, then I want no part of them. If you are thinking about buying one of these vehicles, THINK AGAIN AND TALK TO THE OWNERS when you see one of the these on the road.
IF ANYONE CAN COME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR THIS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could try buying completely diff pads...
or try taking it to a diff dealer (not toyota) tell them your deal and let them have a try.. maybe one mechanic there knows a little secret we all don't...

Re: Toyota 1999 Sienna MiniVan

Go to CarX and have them put new pads on for you. See what happens. If they still squeel then the rotors, calipers or drums are the problem. Never had this problem with my 99 Sienna. Wish you luck. Email me at [email protected] if you have more problems.
