Any help before I'm ripped off please

Hi, I have just taken my xedos to the local agent for diagnosis (ABS and TXC lights on ) they charged me £19 to tell me that they will need it in for a full day at £55 per hour to do full diagnosis

The codes were c1085 abs pump motor circuit and po 705 p.c.m transmission range sender

Is there anything I could look at myself before I end up with a huge bill ????
