97 Grand Am jerking while driving

3 weeks ago accelerated to get around semi, car began to run rough. Then jerking movement when accelerating. Changed coil packwhich was damaged, spark plug boots, spark plugs, fuel filter. Car still jerks and misses when driving RPM's around 2000 and accelerating, also jerks and can see the miss in the RPM gage when stopped at a light or in traffic. Trouble accelerating and going up a hill. What else could it be??????? Please help, do not want to get rid of car, but if I can not get it fixed will have no choice.

Re: 97 Grand Am jerking while driving

It is possible you fuel regulator is bad, get your fuel pressure checked.

Kinda sounds more like ignition components then your throtle body.
Though it could be your TPS or IAC on the TB, might test those and see if they are functioning properly.

This link has test procedures for those two components.

Hope that helps.
