chevy 350 conversion

ok this isnt really bout the conversion. but is it possible to fit the 928 v8 into the 944. the chevy conversion uses the 350, somewat a big engine. i dont know the CI of the 928, but would it fit, or for that matter be worth putting in the 944?

mind u i'm talking a n/a 944, not a turbo

Re: chevy 350 conversion

its possible just as anything else but not worth it, the 928 engine is suppose to be the 2.5l just doubled which isnt true. Its not very powerful for the weight it is.

Re: chevy 350 conversion

The 928 engine is very wide and tall and would have interferance problems around the brake booster. There is a picture of a 944 race car with a 928 engine in it floating around the net but there was extensive modifications to make it fit.

If you are looking for big power, you can't beat the Chevy conversion. You could probably do it for less than what you would pay to do a good 928 engine rebuild.
