Replacing rear turn signal bulb...

Okay, so how exactly do I get to the rear turn signal bulbs to replace them.

I know I've got to be missing something obvious, and it's been a very long day.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Replacing rear turn signal bulb...

OK. Inside the tail gate there are 2 screws (maybe covered by plastic). Remove those screws and whole light assy will come out. May take a bit of finesse as the seal may hold it in place.

Keep in mind that the brakes and turn signals use the same bulb. So if the brake lights are working and the turn signals are not we may have to look at the turn signal switch (multi function switch).

Let us know.

Thumbs up Re: Replacing rear turn signal bulb...

Thank you, that was just what I needed. I was looking deeper into the bed than that, God only know why...it really has been a long day.

Anyway, I did get the current bulb to work after a short while. I first tried to reseat it, but that didn't help. I then saw how filthy it was at the point where the electrical wires went into that assembly, so cleaned the area off fairly well and BINGO! Seems to be working great now.

On top of that, the local parts place had given me the wrong type bulb, so I'll just return it in the morning.
